Whatever comes out of that Bard’s throat does not yearn for recognitions, nor transcendence, as flames, merely illuminating the trails of Ages Passed, commence their soaring alongside a Chorale of Voices -- nothing more Holy than bloodshed and farewells destined to happen -- only this time, from His throat, all the unresolved strife of the distressed advance are marching backwards, and what’s been revealed here is the Unbirth of a Legend. So grasp the flickering ashes, soothsayers, and join this Chorale with your own singing -- unraveled as dim flashes within His womb, etching the Forthcoming Victory Its Burning into that infantile creature, staying with him ever since, from Alone to Kingdom.
Hence concludes the triumphant debut of CRIATURA, titled In the Silence of Dawn, after more than a decade of silence. Hailing from Bogor, Indonesia, and made up of veterans in the ID underground scene, Criatura inherit much of the signature romantic melodisim of their peers, while expanding into the territory of Symphonic/Power Metal -- the valorous and superbly executed soprano not only distinguish Criatura from your common Indonesian Melodic BM sound, but also seamlessly -- contrasting the harsh vocals and classic BM riffs -- ink hues of fantasy-storytelling into the already highly orchestral arrangements, inviting listeners to follow the narration -- backwards -- and witness across a lifetime, how a Hero was made and remembered.
In the Silence of Dawn will be released in September 2026, coinciding with the band’s 18th anniversary.
Highly recommended to fans of classic Indonesian acts -- Vallendusk, Pure Wrath -- and Grandiose Symphonic Metal.
