Obscure Gaze is a promising young act that emerged from the Chinese underground in late 2025. Driven by the onset of a collapsing generation, its first demo, Tame the Chaos, aims to enact a spiritual revolt through a ruthless yet melodic interpretation of Black Metal. Clearly inspired by the legendary Mgła, yet Obscure Gaze’s compositions are not so much a lazy clone as a push of the possibilities of BM within Mgła’s style and structure -- embers of originality are surely visible here. This is a band you definitely shouldn’t overlook.
