A soundtrack unfolds in four movements of lost humanity, a voyage of forlorn nostalgia across the stellar sea: heed the triumphal hymn carried by Civilization and Its last vessels, heed it adrift in the antechambers of Space, voids after voids. For resistance, for compassion, as the mute extinction wipes out another Planet, Its lifeworld, Its denizens, leaving only a luminous silence, blooming endlessly -- see its shining, of love, of yearning, the quietude of universal happiness -- emitting outwards they will be, as the final uttering for the next messenger of humanity, light years away, glistening.
The Eternal Dusk | 失纪元 emerged in December 2025, conceived in Beijing. Its name gestures toward an unending continuum—cosmic vacancy stretched across time—where light and darkness meet in a perpetual dusk, a threshold that is at once terminus and passage.
Their debut EP, 光年之外的遗书 | A Will Beyond Light-years, situates itself within melodic atmospheric black metal, and strives to recreate the cosmic voyage through its four tightly strewn movements. Instead of heavily relying on the dense heap of futuristic synth, all the evocative sceneries and emotions are conveyed almost solely through the weaving of Black Metal riffs: old-school melodicism and reverie-like clean passages, while fragments of signals and other sound effects only float sporadically in the soundscape’s outskirt.
