With incantations and vigils, the paths, filled with rustic mystics, lead the listener well into the entrails of the Darkness beneath our World -- a never-ending quest. To conquer with Weeps and Warcries, casting the boundaries of Lands with every triumph and fiasco -- be it unfathomable oceans or impenetrable mist -- a shared fate born out of Beliefs so Ancient and their Atavistic Sublimity. As such, the Hero again went adrift in the Labyrinth of Faith, destined to him, for Glory and Knowledge, forever bearing this blazing curse.
As the latest output from this UK-based circle of BM maniacs, this split album by Belliciste and Úir offers two folkloric interpretations of unpolished black art. From Belliciste’s epic medieval passages to the engulfing atmosphere in Úir’s offerings, this album genuinely feels like witnessing an unnamed hero plunging into a fate of no return. Full of exceptionally written riffs -- in particular, the collaborative track “Of the Fire” -- one of the best writings among the Melodic BM releases of this year.
