The ending that words fail to relate demands no closure. Disintegrated and fall, that’s all. And then you’d understand that the Moon reflects no more sorrow than what your pupils can hold, yet the tears gushing down will somehow fill that hollow shell of yours. Hence the sky was wounded, just like you, by the same flickering laces of visions carving onto your mirror-image: hurt, lots of echoes, like every step of resolution you’ve promised yourself -- empty words and long-gone love -- memories that burn: we can talk about it more, the way Time eludes those moments when we stare into the sky and all its flawed permanence: too late to wake, too late to run, as the tears gush on: you never really cared about us, O Heavens of ours -- one more implosion to bloom.
A debut shaped by a collapse of erupting motions—Airy relies on Grief, an ephemeral yet substantially painful ardor, as the gravity that pulls and guides the soundscape of this record. Local Tears sketches out a sonic terrain where Blackgaze and Post-Metal bleed into each other, luminous and oftentimes slow, with melodies glistening like distant stars, layered beneath a shoegaze halo. The band’s youth pulses beneath the grief—there is clarity in the way they channel the sensibilities brooded by the East Asian indie scene: bright yet fragile, blistered yet full of hope: notes and the colors they form ornamented with confessing words and those secrets they withhold.
