Monument of the Fanatic Creed, or the bloodstained gaze cast by one Towering Omen hidden behind the crimson-ridden firmament. Freshly erected from every brick and rubble of the empire originally gathered by the same hands that would so willingly sacrifice them all for a rite as such, the Oubliette -- this edifice of despair, the vertebrae of downfall -- draws and carries the Abyss and its every stream onto the realm of Its conjurers. Idolatry, or the woeful annihilation of every pillar that once supported the World -- the pathetic space between the Sky and Earth -- commenced upon your own words and was replaced by the new foundation, a new order -- the Oubliette -- with Its smothering and crushing silence.
Grim Fate and the Cycle of Ruin sung through ten interconnected eulogic tracks: this is a world on the verge of its dire end painted by The Oubliette, the third full-length album offered by Australia’s own Vixenta. Since their initiation back in 2010, Vixenta has slowly made their way into the foreground of the Australian BM scene. Fans of Pest Productions should remember their split album with Vietnamese BM nova Elcrost from 3 years ago or their well-received second full-length “Polarity,” through which they were able to cultivate an increasingly distinctive writing approach of the Folk-inspired Melodic Black Metal -- fans would be amazed to see how these unfold in this third album: immense, dynamic, with spellbinding cathartic sorrow, as usual.
