sonhos tomam conta from Sao Paulo, Brazil, aiming to keep the track record of pains in the personal life. Mixing the elements of black metal, shoegaze, emo and post rock, and too inspired by a number of cartoon and movies opuses, such as "Welcome to Join NHK - N・H・Kにようこそ!", "Paprika", "Chungking Express" and "Mulholland Drive", the latest album "hypnagogia" depicts the surreal illusion by forced self-hyponosis. Without using reverb and repetition to achieve calm and explosive emotional build-ups, sonhos tomam conta constructs a psychdelic sonic wall on the basis of sorrow and melancholy. Immersed in the dreamlike neon violet ambience, the audience are walking into a heartland of total darkness.
"hypngogia" was widely acclaimed when the digital and cassette editions were released in July 2021. This album is now available for the first time on CD through the collaborative efforts of Pest Productions and the Chinese label Weary Bird Records specialising in post rock. Limited to 200 copies only, and orders are shipping on 26th January 2022.
